The Design Kayaks Awesome is a versatile and lightweight sea kayak, perfect for surfing waves and rock hopping along the coastline. The Awesome boasts a lightweight, rigid 3-layer sandwich construction, with a reinforced outer layer for exceptional strength in even the toughest conditions.

The bow profile has a steep design, which helps the Awesome to pinpoint the direction of travel and increase stability when riding a wave. The hull shape is completely flat-bottomed with distinctive soft chines, providing ultimate stability and creating an impressive performance for playful paddling and developing technique. The Awesome is really comfortable when holding an edge and feels very smooth to roll, thanks to the low profile stern.

The Design Kayaks Awesome is also perfect for day trips along the coastline, or extended journeys along your favourite river. With its deployable Kajak Sport Skeg, you'll have the extra tracking needed to stay in control even in challenging tidal and windy conditions.

Design Kayaks have outfitted the Awesome sea kayak with a lightweight and super-strong carbon seat, that increases the structure and stiffness of the kayak around the seating area. Behind the carbon seat is a fully adjustable padded backband that gives the paddler plenty of support and connection to the kayak. The cockpit is very spacious and accommodates a variety of paddlers, especially alongside the adjustable foot pegs, which slide back and forth to achieve the best fit. The outfitting also features wide thigh braces that are fixed in the optimal place to enable increased control of the kayak.

The Awesome sea kayak features strong fibreglass-reinforced deck fittings, which are recessed into the deck to help keep a clean profile and prevent your equipment from getting snagged. The coloured deck lines provide points along the edge of the kayak that can be used to grab and handle the kayak in a rescue situation. Fitted across the front and rear deck are coloured bungee cords, to secure your gear in place, such as a Bilge Pump, Paddle Float, or Spare Paddle. Additionally, there are 3 storage compartments with coloured hatches that offer plentiful room for storing luggage and items for longer journeys. These compartments also help to ensure buoyancy if you capsize, as long as the hatch covers are correctly secured in place.

Overall, the Design Kayaks Awesome is a highly versatile sea kayak that offers reliable performance in a variety of situations. Although it isn't the fastest sea kayak on the market, the Awesome is a much more appropriate choice for many UK paddlers.
